Who do you provide services for?
I work with children, teens, and young adults from elementary school through college. I also have experience providing support to parents and caregivers as well as coaching for teachers. I identify as part of the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities and actively engage in providing services to those seeking out a counselor with shared identities.
What insurances do you take?
I am currently accepting Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, MVP, and Medicaid. Although I bill insurance it is important to check with your insurance to determine if your plan covers behavioral health and if I am considered In Network. It is also important to understand your benefits to see if you have a co-pay for sessions or deductible that needs to be met.
How do I know if therapy is right for me or my child?
Since you are exploring my website, I understand you might be wondering if this is the next right step in your journey. The fact that you are asking questions means you are off to a good start. Sometimes we experience big life changes that lead us to seek support in developing new skills and strategies. Other times we want to look into our past to explore how it is affecting us currently. It might just be that you are looking for a space to explore who you are and who you want to be in a safe and reflective environment. Any of these reasons may serve as launching points for this work to begin!
What does it mean when you say you are 'working toward licensure'?
Clinical Mental Health Counselors must go through rigorous and extensive training in order to provide these specialized services. Following graduation from an accredited 60-credit graduate program and the completion of 700 hours of supervised practice as an intern, clinicians must continue their career development in the form of clinical supervision. In the state of Vermont, this means 3,000+ hours of supervised practice under a licensed professional must be completed before becoming eligible for independent licensure. I am under the clinical supervision and guidance of Beth Morelli, LCMHC.
